The Lair of Zarbi Supremo was originally published as a short story in the World Distributors Doctor Who Annual 1966. Written by Script Editor David Whitaker, it features the Zarbi and Menoptera from the 1964 serial The Web Planet. This audio version, read by one of its stars, William Russell, was released as an extra on the 2006 DVD release of The Web Planet.
