This excellent fast-paced adaptation got its first repeat this week since it premiered in 2001 in mono on the BBC World Service. I assume it was produced to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the novel. Now after 23 years, we finally get to hear it in stereo.
I cut the nearly five-minute recap of part one from the start of part two as no one will be waiting a week to hear the second half.

John Wyndham’s classic 1951 post-apocalyptic sci-fi novel adapted for radio by Lance Dann.
PART ONE – The world is struck blind by a solar storm and millions of man-eating, walking plants are now free to roam across Britain.
PART TWO – With widespread blindness, society crumbles as the Triffids spread unabated. Bill goes in search of Josella to seek a haven where they can rebuild their shattered lives, but the Triffids aren’t the only threat to their survival.
