It’s an absolute treat to hear The Seventh Doctor and Ace back together in an original audio adventure – I mean original in the sense that this script from Marc Platt was initially penned in 1989 and was set to be the next story in the original TV series – before it was so cruelly cancelled.
The chemistry is spot-on, and the guest cast superb. Ricky Groves, Eastenders’ Jack-the-lad Garry, is superbly dodgy as seemingly innocent fur salesman Markus Creevy, whilst Beth Chalmers also excels as Creevy’s Russian squeeze Lt Raina Kerenskaya.
The Ice Warriors were long overdue a revival by 1990, and their appearance here is another good reason to purchase this atmospheric and consistently engaging audio adventure.
